PUPIL'S DIARY

Image

Pupil's diary is very important record where in the schedule of the yearlong examinations activities, holidays and important dates of various functions will be communicated on a timely basis. Homework and reports noted down in the diary. The school will give every student a pupil's diary at INR 80.

ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCE

Image

We are required to set a target for overall absence. Some schools will also be required to set targets for pupil groups whose absence exceeds a given threshold (e.g persistent absentees with 20% or more absence). If a child's attendance falls below 90%, parents will be contacted if there is no valid reason for the same.

If for any reason your child is unwell, please contact the school to let us know as soon as possible. If we do not hear from you, we will telephone/text you that morning to find out why your child is absent. On their return, please write a brief note explaining the reason for their absence, and any details the class teacher may need to know.

HOLIDAYS

Image

A list of school holidays for the current year is available from the school office and the web site. This list will help you to plan your own holidays to coincide with school holidays as far as possible, thus avoiding any loss of schooling for your child.

We are committed to providing the very best education possible for your child. There is a close link between attendance and progress. We are committed to both the local authority and local school agreement on parents requesting additional time for holidays outside the normal 13 weeks holiday across the year.

ASSESSMENT, TARGET SETTING AND REPORT

Image

Detailed tracking records are kept of your child's progress for Pre-nursery to Class 5. Individual records of achievement with assessed levels are kept by the class teacher and updated each half term. Targets for improvement are agreed with the children through pupil progress meetings.

A progress report will be sent out towards the end of the school year. This will provide information on your child's progress in all curriculum areas as well as attendance and a general comment on attitudes and behaviour.

POLICIES

Behaviour/ Discipline policy

At RMIS we pride ourselves on high standards of discipline and good behaviour of the children attending our school. We actively promote self-discipline, encouraging children to be responsible for their own actions as well as to care for and respect other people and property.

Through planned curriculum activities, and collective acts of worship, children are taught tolerance of others, and to celebrate individual differences. Children have many opportunities to play together and develop friendships. Sometimes children misbehave. If this happens we ensure you are informed and if required, asked to meet with the teacher, ora more senior member of staff. Our aim is to keep you informed so that, together, we can support your child in improving their behaviour

Exclusion

In the event of any child's persistent unacceptable behaviour the school may find it necessary to exclude that child from school. Exclusions may vary in length and may include temporary or permanent exclusions. This measure is very much a last resort, usually agreed with the parents of the child concerned and considered to be necessary in order to ensure the well-being of all staff and pupils in school.

THE GOVERNING BODY

The role of the governing body is to ensure that our school provides an effective education for our children and meets all the statutory requirements. This is a huge task, and our governors are committed and hard working towards the same.
